Carey served on the Wisconsin Register of Deeds Association Board from 2013 – 2020, serving as President in 2016 and Past President from 2017- 2020.  She was the first Register of Deeds from Door County to serve in this role.  Prior to being elected president she was the 1st Vice President and Legislative Co-Chair for the WRDA.  Petersilka has served on the Legislative, Resolutions, and Audit committee, as well as the chair for District 3 for 6 years within the WRDA organization.  She is also a member of the Wisconsin Counties Association and Wisconsin Land Information Association.  Lifelong residents of Door County and currently living in the Town of Sevastopol, Carey and her husband Dan of 32 years have 2 adult children. Carey enjoys canning the produce her husband Dan grows in his very extensive garden, cooking, camping, reading and spending as much time with family and friends as possible. She also has 2 Labrador retrievers, ages 8 & 3.
