Doris worked in the office since 1968, working for her, Agnes Verage, who was Register of Deeds from 1939 thru 1974, by appointment from Governor Julius Heil to fill the unexpired term of her husband, who had been in the office since 1933.

Doris was a native of Rhinelander; and after graduation from high school and college, she taught for three years before her marriage to Joseph M Kuehn in 1946.

​

After rearing a family of 10 children, Doris returned to work force in 1968.

​

Her hobbies included grandmothering, golf, traveling and writing a family cook book.
