About the Register of  Deeds Office

In 1997, the Douglas County Register of Deeds office converted to an imaging system and computerized index for its land records. Since that time, we have back-indexed and scanned documents back to mid-1992. At the time of this writing, we are in the process of purchasing software so the documents that have been scanned will be available on the Internet. We hope to have this available by the end of Summer. We are also in the process of getting our Birth, Death, and Marriage records scanned and in computerized indexes. We hope when these projects are completed, it will enable us to provide better service to individuals, professional customers, and other county departments. Our office serves as an agent for the Department of Commerce Weatherization.
