Melanie was elected Register of Deeds of Marinette County in 1992 and retired in 2011. Prior to becoming Register of Deeds she worked eight years for Marinette County, the last four years as a description specialist in the property listing department. She is a member of the Wisconsin Register of Deed Association and is currently co-chair on the Handbook Committee for that association. She is past chair of the Marinette County Land Information office and a member of the Wisconsin Land Information Association.
