About the Register of  Deeds Office

Our office accepts both paper and electronic documents for recording. We have a cut-off time for both document types of 3:30 p.m. Monday-Friday except holidays. Any documents received after 3:30 p.m. will be recorded on the next business day. See the Pierce County website for the names of our e-recording vendors.

Our office has 2 staff, who are very knowledgeable and willing to give assistance as needed. Our land records are available online since January 1, 1998. During the past year we have set up an option for credit card payments for copy fees and vital record sales. We began e-recording documents with four vendor companies. We are currently working on a back-imaging project that will make recorded documents available online from January 1975 through December 1997.
