Sheboygan County - Ellen R Schleicher
Due to the retirement of the former Register of Deeds, Ellen was appointed to fill the vacancy for one year. In fall of 2006 was officially elected to the office.

Ellen has four children and 2 grandchildren. Before her career of Register of deeds she worked in many positions at the Kohler Company, 15 of those years as Recording Secretary for UAW Local 833. Serves on the Board of Directors for Rebuilding Together, Sheboygan County, is Chairperson of the UAWE Local 833 community Services committee, volunteers with 4-H and FFA. In 2001, received her BA in Business from Lakeland College, holds an Associate’s degree in Supervision Management for LTC, and continues her education in UW Madison’s Certified Public Management program. She resides with her husband Michael, on a farm in the Town of Lima, where they raise pigs.

About the Register of Deeds Office
Our office staff consists of 1 Administrative Supervisor (Office Supervisor), 3 Senior Administrative Specialists (document specialists), 1 Administrative Specialist (Real Estate UCC Tech I, II) and 1 Accounting Specialist (Account Clerk). We currently have over 2 million land records that represent 8.7 billion dollars of real estate within the boundaries of Sheboygan County. In fall of 2010 we upgraded our land record software to AVID, which enables us to record documents one day and have them available for public viewing within 24 hours. Our vital record request are processed the day we received them and returned to the requester the next day. We offer on-line contracts to our frequent customers (Laredo) and for the casual customer (Tapestry) is a convenient way to look up real estate records 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. In order to share more records on line we currently are working on back indexing documents into the system we have over one million documents to get completed.
