Bernice has been Register of Deeds of Marquette County since 1977. She served as Deputy Register of Deeds for four years prior to being elected. Of the four years as deputy Register she was also deputy for the County Clerk and Treasurer. She was born in Mauston, WI and lived in Adams County until she was 3. Her folks moved to Montello and she has lived there ever since. Bernice graduated from the Montello Schools and County Normal Teachers College in Wautoma, WI. She as attended summer and night courses at UW Steven Point. Bernice has been a teacher, a waitress and a factory worker. She married Robert A Wegner on June 27, 1970 in Montello. They have 3 lovely daughters; Stacy M Haase married to James Haase live in Fond du Lac and both work in Oshkosh; My Daughter Kimberly is now a School Counselor for the Middle School at Wisconsin Dells, WI. Kim lives in the Dells and loves her job, she says every day is a challenge. Wendy is now married to Marcus F Logemann and works at Portage Divine Savior Hospital, Portage, WI. They live in Montello, so we get to see them often. Bernice is a active member of the Marquette County Republican Party. Her hobbies are walking, reading, counted cross-stitching, decorating cakes and cutting wood with her husband.
